OCEAN ESCAPE

For my final year project I wanted to design a childrenswear collection that was fun, colourful and educational that involved the knowledge I have learnt throughout my three years of my degree.

I was initially influenced by my own travels to European beaches as a child and the memories that have stuck with me as an adult. My final year collection aims to promote the importance of keeping our ocean and beaches clean from waste. I have chosen to design sustainably by choosing yarns that are recyclable with longevity. I've aimed to create a spring/summer beachwear collection that embraces fun and playful shapes.

My own images have allowed me to look into the shapes and colour found within the ocean. I have taken the simplicity of shapes and used them to hit the target of the younger audience. I aimed to create a feeling of fun within children's clothing but also educating and promoting suitability through children's book illustration.
